Rosemont, Ill. - The Lewis University softball team scored four runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to complete a three-run rally and earn the 8-7 regional victory over Lindenwood in the final day of the Dome Invitational at The Dome At The Ballpark on Sunday (Feb. 28) morning.

Eight different Flyers recorded at least one hit, with sophomores
Jenna Cairo (Chicago, Ill./Fenwick),
Kaylee Prieto (Chicago, Ill./Marist),
Sarah DeMasi (Lockport, Ill./Lockport) and junior
Carly Jaworski (Lemont, Ill./Lemont) each collecting two hits for Lewis.
Lewis senior pitcher
Ali Brems (Kenosha, Wis./Harborside) earned the victory for the Flyers. Brems (1-1) allowed seven runs, five earned, and 10 hits while striking out one batter. Lindenwood reliever Brooke Miller (0-2) took the loss for the Lions, allowing one run and two hits, without recording an out.
With the win, Lewis improves to 3-2 overall, while the Lions are now 2-12 on the campaign.
Lindenwood opened up with a 6-4 lead after two innings and added an insurance run in the sixth on a leadoff solo homer by center fielder Brooklyn Sisk.
The Flyers were quick to respond in the bottom half of the frame as pinch hitter
Frankie Castagna (Chicago, Ill./De La Salle) led off with a single. Lewis pinch runner
Alise Perna (Naperville, Ill./Metea Valley) (RBI) advanced to second on a groundout by junior
Carolyn Nojiri (Downers Grove, Ill./Downers Grove North).
Cairo pushed Perna to third on a single to center field and advanced to second on the throw, putting runners on second and third for Prieto. Prieto (2 runs, 2 RBI) cut Lindenwood's lead to 7-6 with a two-run triple, her third of the weekend.
The Flyers evened up the score at 7-apiece on a RBI single by Jaworski (RBI, run), who moved over to second on a fielding error by Lindenwood right fielder Adele Linderman. Jaworski's pinch runner
Angie Giancarlo (Plainfield, Ill./Plainfield South) stole third base and scored the go-ahead run on a RBI single by senior catcher
Brittany Russell (Oswego, Ill./Oswego East).
Lewis returns to action on Monday (Feb. 29), as the Flyers open The Spring Games against West Virginia Wesleyan at 1 PM ET, followed by a 3 PM ET showdown against Notre Dame College.
