St. Louis, Mo. - No. 7 Missouri-St. Louis scored seven of its 13 runs after the fourth inning, as the host Tritons (22-1, 4-0 GLVC) claimed the 4-1, 9-2 Great Lakes Valley Conference doubleheader sweep over Lewis University (11-10, 1-3 GLVC) at the UMSL Softball Field on Saturday (March 12) afternoon.
"UMSL is one of the best teams in the conference for a reason," Lewis head softball coach
Becky Pearl said. "Today showed that we have a lot of work ahead of us."

HR - Jaworski (1)Lewis went nose-to-nose with UMSL All-America pitcher Hannah Perryman and only trailed 2-1 after four innings in Game One. The Tritons, however, put the contest away with two runs in the fifth for the 4-1 win in the opener.
The crucial blows came from the bats of UMSL junior center fielder Sara Kern and redshirt freshman designated player Alicia Shivers, as they both connected for consecutive RBI singles off of losing pitcher
Paige Fossey (Chesterton, Ind./Chesterton). Fossey allowed four runs - three earned - and eight hits in five innings of work, while fanning three batters.
Perryman fanned eight of Lewis' starting nine batters at least once and finished with nine K's on the afternoon. She surrendered one run and five hits, including a solo home run off the bat of Lewis junior shortstop
Carly Jaworski (Lemont, Ill./Lemont).
Lewis junior designated hitter
Dani Knaak (Bolingbrook, Ill./Bolingbrook) had the most success off of Perryman, as she went 2-for-3, including a double.

Ali Brems (Kenosha, Wis./Harborside) in the sixth inning.
Brems allowed seven runs and eight hits in four innings of work, while striking out one batter. Her counterpart Carly Kingery scattered two runs and seven hits to earn the complete-game victory for the Tritons.
Sophomore outfielders
Jenna Cairo (Chicago, Ill./Fenwick) and
Kaylee Prieto (Chicago, Ill./Marist) led the Flyers with two hits apiece. Cairo went 2-for-4 and scored a run, while Prieto went 2-for-4 with a RBI and a run.
