Clermont, Fla. - Lewis University freshman hurler
Paige Fossey (Chesterton, Ind./Chesterton) tossed a complete-game, two-hitter as the Flyers wrapped up The Spring Games with a 9-1 (6 inn.) regional victory over Cedarville on Saturday (March 5) morning.
Fossey (3-2) struck out five batters to earn her second win of the day, as she hurled 1.1 innings of scoreless relief in the 2-1 (8 inn.) win over Northwood. She held Cedarville hitless through five innings, before center fielder Logan Eppich led off the sixth with a single.
With the win, Lewis improves to 10-7 overall, while the Yellow Jackets fall to 1-3.
Eight different Flyers recorded at least one hit with six different Lewis players notching at least one RBI. Lewis junior left fielder
Jenna Cairo (Chicago, Ill./Fenwick) and freshman third baseman
Jessica Lofthouse (Oswego, Ill./Oswego) each recorded three hits to lead the Flyers offensively. Cairo went 3-for-4 with a RBI, while Lofthouse was 3-for-4 with two doubles along with a RBI and a run scored.

Carolyn Nojiri (Downers Grove, Ill./Downers Grove North) went 2-for-4 with two RBI, including a RBI triple, while senior catcher
Brittany Russell (Oswego, Ill./Oswego East) was 2-for-4 with two RBI and scored a run in the win.

Carly Jaworski (Lemont, Ill./Lemont) went 2-for-4 with a RBI and scored a run, while sophomore third baseman
Cori Reynolds (Lansing, Ill./TF South) was 2-for-3 and scored a run.
Cedarville starting pitcher Emily Cornish (0-2) took the loss for the Yellow Jackets, allowing six runs - five earned - and 10 hits in 4.1 innings of work.
Lewis opens Great Lakes Valley Conference play on March 12th, as the Flyers head to St. Louis for a 12 PM twinbill against Maryville.
