Romeoville, Ill. – Despite two victories from junior
Mate Srdanovic (Split, Croatia/Graditeljsko-Geodetska Tehnicka), the No. 39 ranked Lewis University men's tennis team dropped a 7-2 Great Lakes Valley Conference decision to No. 45 University of Southern Indiana in the Flyers' regular-season finale on Friday (April 22) at the Jack Oremus Tennis Complex.
With the win, the Screaming Eagles improve to 15-3 on the season and 5-0 in GLVC play, while the Flyers fall to 12-8 overall and 4-2 in conference action.
At No. 1 doubles, Lewis' No. 14 ranked Srdanovic and freshman
Alan Braschinsky (Tallinn, Estonia/Milna Harma) earned an 8-5 victory over USI's Paul Forichon and Samuel Kiladejo. Srdanovic went on to beat Kiladejo, 6-1, 6-1, at No. 1 singles.
The Flyers return to action on Friday (April 29) as they will host the 2016 GLVC Tournament (April 29 - May 1) at the Jack Oremus Tennis Complex in Romeoville, Ill. Time and opponent to be announced later.Â
