Plainfield, Ill. -
No. 24 University of Indianapolis snapped Lewis University's 13-match winning streak as the Greyhounds dropped the Flyers, 5-0, to claim the NCAA Women's Tennis Midwest Regional Championship at the 5 Star Tennis Center on Monday (May 9).

"It was not the day we envisioned," Lewis head women's tennis coach Brett Bridel said. "Indianapolis is a good team and they played very well today.

"While we're disappointed with today's outcome, we can't let that overtake what a great year we had," Bridel continued. "We were hoping we'd be able to extend our season and we gave it a fight, but we didn't have enough today."

Lewis finishes the season with a record of 19-5, while the Greyhounds improve to 15-7 and advance to the NCAA Division II 'Sweet 16' in Denver.
