Big Rapids, Mich. -
The 2016 season came to an end for the Lewis University men's tennis team on Monday (May 9), as No. 35 Ferris State blanked the Flyers, 5-0, in a NCAA Division II Midwest Regional Tournament First Round match at the FSU Racquet & Fitness Center.

"We had a slow start in doubles and we didn't use the opportunities (that Ferris State) gave us," Lewis assistant men's tennis coach Uno Lapimaa said. "We looked better (in singles) and fought for every point but Ferris was the better team today.

"Hopefully, this was a valuable lesson for us and we'll continue to strive for excellence in the future."

Lewis finishes the season with a record of 12-10. Ferris State advances to the NCAA Midwest Regional Final on Tuesday (May 10).
