University Center, Mich. - No. 21 Saginaw Valley State scored two goals in the first four minutes as the host Cardinals earned the 2-1 regional victory over the Lewis University men's soccer team in the season opener at Braddock Field on Thursday (Sept. 1) afternoon.
With the win, Saginaw Valley State improves to 1-0 on the season, while the Flyers fall to 0-1 on the campaign.

Devon Amoo-Mensah (Naperville, Ill./Naperville Central) headed in a pass from
Ralf Zehnter (Libertyville, Ill./Libertyville) in the 64th minute for the Flyers' lone goal.
Lewis returns to action on Sunday (Sept. 4) for its home opener against Upper Iowa at 12 PM at Lewis Stadium.
