Denver, Colo. - The No. 8 Lewis University women's volleyball team earned a runner-up finish in the Bronze Championship of the Colorado Premier Challenge, hosted by Metro State and Regis, on Saturday (Sept. 10).
  The Flyers opened with a 3-0 (25-23, 26-24, 25-23) sweep over No. 21 Arkansas Fort Smith, but lost in the Bronze Championship to West Florida, 25-14, 25-18, 23-25, 25-21.
  Lewis is now 5-3 on the campaign and opens Great Lakes Valley Conference play on Friday (Sept. 16) in Rolla, Mo., against Missouri S&T. First serve is set for 7 PM.

  Lewis had three players record double-doubles as the Flyers won each of the three games by two points.

Elizabeth Hyland (Plainfield, Ill./Plainfield Central) had 11 kills and 17 digs, while redshirt junior right side
Maddie Seliga (St. Louis, Mo./Nerinx Hall) picked up 10 kills and 13 digs. Redshirt sophomore setter
Abby Becker (Menomonee Falls, Wis./Menomonee Falls) had 40 assists and 13 digs in the win.

Nicole Yuede (St. Charles, Mo./Francis Howell North) had a match-high 28 digs, while junior middle hitter
Aly Schneider (Granger, Ind./Penn) racked up a match-high 13 kills and hit .290 (13-4-31).
West Florida 3, #8 Lewis 1
  West Florida had five players record at least 14 digs and the Argonauts held a 96-78 dig advantage over the Flyers in the four-game victory.
  Hyland recorded her second double-double of the afternoon with a match-high 18 kills and team-best 21 digs, while Yuede also had 21 digs in the loss. Schneider notched 14 kills, while Seliga and redshirt junior
Bailey Sparkman (St. Charles, Mo./Francis Howell) each had nine putaways.
  Becker had 50 assists and eight digs for the Flyers.
