Kansas City, Mo. - The Lewis University women's soccer team fought off a stubborn Rockhurst University squad and both teams battled to a 0-0 (2 OT) scoreless tie at Bourke Field on Sunday (Sept. 11) afternoon.
Rockhurst outshot the Flyers, 14-6, including a 6-2 advantage in shots on goal. The Hawks also had 12 corner kicks to Lewis' two.

Jennifer Meyer (Homer Glen, Ill./Lockport) stopped four shots, while the Flyers added two more team saves in the tie.
With the tie, Lewis moves to 2-2-1 on the campaign and 0-1-1 in GLVC action, while the host Hawks are now 4-0-1 on the season and 1-0-1 in conference play.

Jessica Chavez (Aurora, Ill./West Aurora) and junior
Mackenzie Fuller (Aurora, Ill./Waubonsie Valley) each had two shots and one shot on goal to lead the Flyer offense.
Lewis returns home on Friday (Sept. 16) for its GLVC home opener against Drury. Kickoff is slated for 7:30 PM.
