Meg Carmody (Orland Park, Ill./Sandburg) and junior
Mackenzie Fuller (Aurora, Ill./Waubonsie Valley) combined for eight points as as the Flyer women's soccer team cruised past Drury University, 4-1, in a Great Lakes Valley Conference match-up at Lewis Stadium on Friday (Sept. 16) evening.
Carmody notched two goals, while Fuller recorded a goal and two assists in the victory. Lewis senior forward
Jessica Chavez (Aurora, Ill./West Aurora) scored the fourth goal of the game for the Flyers in the 63rd minute.
With the win, Lewis improves to 3-2-1 overall and 1-1-1 in GLVC action, while the visiting Panthers drop to 2-2-1 on the campaign and 0-2-1 in conference play.
Lewis outshot Drury 22-7 on the evening, including a 15-6 advantage in shots on goal.
Lewis returns to action on Sunday (Sept. 18), as the Flyers take on Missouri S&T at Lewis Stadium. Kickoff is set for 2:30 PM.
