Louisville, Ky. - No. 15 Bellarmine University scored the first 17 points of the game and never looked back as the Knights earned the 87-53 Great Lakes Valley Conference victory over the Lewis University men's basketball team at Knights Hall on Thursday (Jan. 19) night.
Bellarmine shot 53.7% (29-for-54) from the field and 52.2% (12-for-23) from long range, while the Flyers were limited to a 32.7% (17-for-52) shooting performance and a 25.0% (5-for-20) outing from beyond the arc.
With the win, Bellarmine improves to 15-3 overall and 7-1 in GLVC action, while the Flyers fall to 11-7 on the campaign and 6-2 in conference play.
Lewis freshman guard
Adam Pischke (Cary, Ill./Marian Central Catholic) topped the Flyers with a game-high 15 points on 6-for-11 shooting and two three-pointers.
Lewis returns to action on Saturday (Jan. 21), as the Flyers head to Evansville for a 3 PM tip-off against Southern Indiana.
