Evansville, Ind. - The Lewis University men's basketball team turned the ball over 15 times and No. 9 Southern Indiana took advantage, as the host Screaming Eagles scored 40 points off of the Flyer miscues on their way to the 80-57 Great Lakes Valley Conference victory at the Physical Activities Center on Saturday (Jan. 21) afternoon.
Lewis shot 33.9% (20-for-59) from the field and 13.0% (3-for-23) from three-point range in the loss. Southern Indiana knocked down 49.2% (29-for-52) of its shots and 33.3% (7-for-21) of its three-point attempts.
In the second half, USI shot 58.8% (20-for-34) from the field and 41.7% (5-for-12) from beyond the arc, as the Screaming Eagles outscored Lewis, 49-30, in the final 20 minutes.
With the win, Southern Indiana improves to 18-1 overall and 8-1 in GLVC action, while the Flyers fall to 11-8 on the campaign and 6-3 in conference play.

Miles Simelton (Oswego, Ill./Oswego) notched a game-high 24 points on 9-for-20 shooting, including three trifectas.
Lewis returns to action on Thursday (Jan. 26), as the Flyers host McKendree for a 7:30 PM tip-off.
