Romeoville, Ill. - On senior day celebrating the careers of
Sarah Cameron (Brownstone, Mich./Carlson),
Kinsey Coble (Lafayette, Ind./Jefferson),
Courtney Duy (Buckeye, Ariz./Millennium),
Brittany Kamper (Orland Park, Ill./Sandburg),
Kara Treacy (Corpus Christi, Texas/Flour Bluff),
Shannon Sullivan (Elmhurst, Ill./York ), and
Kaitlyn Yearout (Ocala, Fla. /Trinity Catholic), Lewis University women's swimming defeated Valparaiso 198-58.
Of the seniors Treacy placed first in the 1000 yard freestyle finishing in 11:01.86. Sullivan finished the 200 freestyle in 1:56.85 finishing in first as well as the 100 freestyle in 54.72. Cameron won the 100 backstroke in 1:10.79. She also won the 500 freestyle with a time of 5:20.27. Coble took first in the 50 yard freestyle with 25.06. Yearout finished the 100 butterfly first with 1:00.34. In the 200 freestyle Duy took second with 2:00.98. Finally Kamper took second in the 50 freestyle with 25.65 and second in the 200 backstroke with 2:13.25.
The Flyers also found themselves setting a pool record in the 400 freestyle relay with 3:32.07. The relay team was made up of Kamper, Coble, Duy, and Sullivan.
The next meet for Lewis will be the GLVC Championship Feb. 8-11.
