Adler Golden Goal Lifts Lewis Men's Soccer To 1-0 (OT) Win Over Bellarmine

Adler scores second game-winner of the weekend.

Romeoville, Ill. - Lewis University sophomore midfielder Timm Adler (Frankenthal Rheinland-Pfalz Germany/Karolinen-Gymnasium Frankenthal) converted his second game-winning tally of the weekend as he scored the golden goal in the 94th minute to push the men's soccer team to the 1-0 (OT) win over Bellarmine University in a Great Lakes Valley Conference match-up at Lewis Stadium on Sunday (Oct. 1).

Adler also broke a tie in the 82nd minute in Friday's 2-1 win over Southern Indiana.

The victory extends Lewis' winning streak to four matches and improves the Flyers' record to 7-3 overall and 6-2 in GLVC action. The Knights drop to 5-4 on the campaign and 3-4 in conference play. The winning streak is Lewis' longest since the 2013 campaign.

Bellarmine outshot Lewis, 14-11, including a 6-3 advantage in shots on goal.

Lewis senior goalkeeper Philip Huang (Flossmoor, Ill./Homewood-Flossmoor) made six saves to earn his third shutout of the season.

Lewis returns to action on Friday (Oct. 6), as the Flyers head to Indianapolis for a 7:30 PM ET kickoff.
