Final Results
Tuscaloosa, Al. - The tandem of
Dora Andrejszki (Budapest, Hungary/Dozsa Gyorgy) and
Nora Mindiyarova (Moscow, Russia/Gimnasium 1577) of the Lewis University women's tennis team combined to win the Baili Camino Draw at the Roberta Alison Fall Classic, hosted by the University of Alabama on Saturday (Oct. 28).
After winning their first round match Friday, they came back Saturday and defeated Caroline Kelly of Mississippi State and Laura Marti of Clemson 6-2.
They then defeated the top seed in the draw, Smith Hinton and Jacqueline Pelletier of Alabama, 7-5 in the final.
Oana Trus (Sighetu Marmatiei, Romania/Regele Ferdinand) and
Simone Parn (Parnu, Estonia) dropped their second round match today in the Marouschka Van Dijk Draw 7-5 to Amelia Campbell and Julia Streif of Tennessee-Martin and then defeated Olha Burak and Mizuki Sakurai of Tennessee-Martin 6-2.
In singles, Andrejszki won her third place match in the Dominique Glinzler Draw 7-5, 1-6, 10-7 over Constance Branstine of Southern California.
Mindiyarova fell in her third place match in the Stacey Dodd Draw, 6-1, 7-5 to Megan Bertrands of Alabama-Birmingham.
Trus won third place in the Cantillon Brasington Draw, 6-0, 6-2 over Burak.
Parn won her lone match of the day, 6-2, 5-7, 10-7 over Nadine Villers of Samford in the Karen Gaiser Draw.
The tournament wraps up the fall season for the Flyers.
