Louisville, Ky. - The Lewis University women's basketball team jumped out to a 29-11 lead after the first quarter and never looked back, topping Bellarmine 81-55 Saturday (Dec. 2) in a Great Lakes Valley Conference game at Knights Hall.
Jessica Kelliher (Waukesha, Wis./Waukesha North) led the Flyers (5-3, 1-1 GLVC) with 30 points on 15-of-20 (75%) shooting to go along with five assists.
Rachel Hinders (Johnston, Iowa/Johnston) added 16 points on 7-of-9 (78%) shooting.
Reilly Olmstead (Brownsburg, Ind./Brownsburg) added nine points and
Gabby Green (Milwaukee, Wis./Pius XI) tallied eight points and three steals.
Lewis shot 58.6 percent (34-for-58) from the floor, while limiting Bellarmine (3-3, 0-1) to 31.7 percent (19-of-60) shooting.
The Flyers had 10 steals and had a 35-33 rebounding edge.
Lewis heads back on the road Tuesday (Dec. 5) to take on the University of St. Francis in Joliet.
