Louisville, Ky. - The Lewis University men's basketball team fell to No. 3 Bellarmine 78-59 Saturday (Dec. 2) in a Great Lakes Valley Conference game at Knights Hall.
The Flyers trailed 19-13 with 10:57 left in the first half when the Knights went on a 16-2 run to open up the game. The hosts led 39-24 at the half.
Nick Norton (Downers Grove, Ill./Downers Grove North) scored 14 points on 6-of-8 (75%) shooting to lead Lewis.
Cristen Wilson (Cleveland, Ohio/John Hay) added 11 points on 5-of-6 shooting (83%) and
Anthony D'Avanzo (Harwood Heights, Ill./Notre Dame) scored nine points on 4-of-5 (80%) shooting.
For the game the Flyers shot 22-of-48 (45.8%) from the floor, while Bellarmine shot at a 52.8 percent (28-for-53) clip.
The Flyers were outrebounded 32-23 for the contest.
Lewis moves to 2-6, 0-2 in the GLVC on the season, while Bellarmine is now 7-0, 1-0 in the GLVC.
Lewis returns home to welcome Indianapolis Thursday (Dec. 7) for a 7:30 PM tip.
