Romeoville, Ill. - Behind 27 points and 10 rebounds from
Cristen Wilson (Cleveland, Ohio/John Hay), the Lewis University men's basketball team defeated Robert Morris-Peoria 110-57 Thursday (Dec. 28) in a nonconference game at Neil Carey Arena.
Wilson shot 10-for-10 from the floor and went 7-for-9 from the foul line in the win for Lewis (5-7), which moved to 4-0 at home on the year.
The 110 points for the Flyers were the most they have scored since scoring 111 points Dec. 18, 2016 in a 111-61 win over Salem International.
Six players finished in double figures for the Flyers.
Brandon McCombs (Jacksonville, Ill./Jacksonville)Â had 16 points on 6-for-6 shooting,
Nick Norton (Downers Grove, Ill./Downers Grove North) totaled 15 points and seven rebounds,
Delaney Blaylock (Wyoming, Mich./Godwin Heights) had 12 points and eight rebounds,
Bailey Basala (Moline, Ill./North Scott (IA)) recorded 12 points and 11 boards and
Jake Reinhart (Bloomington, Ill./Central Catholic) added 10 points.
Lewis outrebounded the Eagles (2-12) 57-34 for the contest and it had 19 offensive rebounds.
The Flyers shot 43-for-82 (52.4%) from the floor, while RMU-Peoria went 21-for-64 (32.8%). The Flyers forced 19 turnovers, while committing only 10.
Lewis opened the game on a 26-2 run and never looked back, leading 54-21 at the half.
The Flyers head back to Michigan for their final nonconference game of the year Saturday (Dec. 30) when they play Northwood at 3 PM ET.
