Rosemont, Ill. - The University of Findlay tied the game in the seventh and scored two in the ninth to claim the 6-5 (9 inn.) extra-inning regional win over the Lewis University softball team in second day action of the Lewis Dome Invitational at The Dome at the Ballpark on Saturday (Feb. 25).
With the win, Findlay improves to 4-3 on the campaign, while the Flyers fall to 2-1.
Lewis senior shortstop
Carly Jaworski (Lemont, Ill./Lemont) went 2-for-5 with two RBI and a run to lead the Flyers offensively.
Flyer junior left fielder
Kaylee Prieto (Chicago, Ill./Marist) went 2-for-4 with a run and a RBI, while sophomore
Dara Sanders (Crestwood, Ill./Mother McAuley) had two hits and drove in a run.
Lewis starting pitcher
Lainie Schweickert (Peru, Ill./St. Bede Academy) took the loss for the Flyers. Schweickert (0-1) allowed three runs - one earned - and four hits in six innings of work, while fanning eight Oilers.
Lewis returns to action later on Saturday against Wayne State.
