Romeoville, Ill. - The Lewis University women's basketball team extended its winning streak to five games with the 73-66 Great Lakes Valley Conference victory over Truman State at Neil Carey Arena on Thursday (Feb. 9) night.
Lewis sophomore forward
Jessica Kelliher (Waukesha, Wis./Waukesha North) posted team-highs of 19 points - on 8-for-10 shooting - including eight rebounds in 22 minutes of action.
Lewis redshirt senior guard
Jamie Johnson (South Holland, Ill./Marian Catholic) finished with 14 points and seven rebounds, while sophomore guard
Gabby Green (Milwaukee, Wis./Pius XI) collected a season-high 13 points and dished out a game-high six assists.
With the win, Lewis improves to 19-5 overall and 11-3 in GLVC action, while the Bulldogs drop to 11-12 on the campaign and 6-8 in conference play.
Lewis shot 51.9% (28-for-54) from the field, while Truman State knocked down 43.9% (25-for-57) of its shots. The Flyers also enjoyed a 36-27 advantage on the glass and saw their bench outscore Truman State's reserves, 19-8.
Lewis returns to action on Saturday (Feb. 11) for a 1 PM tip-off against Quincy at Neil Carey Arena.
