Orlando, Fla. - No. 9 Grand Valley State jumped out to a 3-0 lead over the Lewis University baseball team and held on for the 4-3 regional victory over the Flyers at Myrtle Park Complex on Friday (March 10).

Kenny King (Orland Park, Ill./Providence ) went 3-for-5 with a double to lead the Flyers offensively. The Flyers also received a pair of hits - including a triple - and a run from sophomore right fielder
Connor Rutherford (DePere, Wis./DePere).
With the victory, Grand Valley State improves to 8-2 on the campaign, while the Flyers fall to 0-11.
Lewis starting pitcher
Alex Shake (Glasford, Ill./Canton) took the loss for the Flyers. Shake (0-3) surrendered three runs, three walks and eight hits in 5.2 innings of work, while striking out six batters.
Lewis returns to action on Saturday (March 11), as the Flyers meet Walsh for a 12:30 PM ET first pitch.
