Romeoville, Ill. - No. 2 Ohio State University fought off a furious rally - including match-point - by the No. 7 Lewis University men's volleyball team, as the visiting Buckeyes held on for the 25-22, 25-23, 23-25, 14-25, 16-14 Midwestern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association victory over the Flyers in front of 1,218 fans at Neil Carey Arena on Saturday (March 18) night.

Ryan Coenen (Franklin, Wis./Franklin) notched a match-high 22 kills and hit .500 (22 kills, 3 errors, 38 attacks) to lead the Flyers. Coenen added a match-high eight blocks (1 solo), five digs and four service aces in the match.
Lewis finished the match with a season-high 10 service aces, but the Flyers also committed 22 service errors in the loss.
The Flyers also received 10 kills, five digs and four blocks (1 solo) from redshirt sophomore opposite hitter
Mitch Perinar (Channahon, Ill./Minooka).
With the victory, Ohio State improves to 21-1 overall and 10-0 in MIVA action, while the Flyers fall to 17-6 on the campaign and 10-3 in conference play.

As a team, Lewis outhit the Buckeyes with a .281 (49-17-114) hitting percentage, while Ohio State hit .266 (56-23-124).
Lewis returns to action on Friday (March 24), as the Flyers welcome Penn State to Neil Carey Arena for a 7 PM first serve.
