Auburndale, Fla. - Despite the Lewis University pitching staff limiting Minnesota State to just three hits, the Mavericks rallied from a 3-0 deficit with four unanswered runs to earn the 4-3 non-conference win over the Flyer baseball team on Monday (March 6).
Lewis sophomore right fielder
Brandon Post (Elk Grove Village, Ill./Elk Grove) went 2-for-4, while junior center fielder
Jermaine Terry (Plainfield, Ill./Plainfield South) connected for a two-run homer to lead the Flyers offensively.
With the win, Minnesota State improves to 4-2 on the campaign, while the Flyers fall to 0-7 on the season.
Lewis reliever
Brandon Popp (Roselle, Ill. /Lake Park ) took the loss for the Flyers. Popp (0-1) allowed two runs - one earned - and one hit in 1.1 innings pitched.
Lewis returns to action on Tuesday (March 7) for a 9:30 AM first pitch against Northwood.
