Auburndale, Fla. - Northwood University scored nine runs from the second through the fifth inning to gain the 14-4 (8 inn.) victory over the Lewis University baseball team on Tuesday (March 7)..

Lewis senior center fielder Brandon Collins (Tinley Park, Ill./Lincoln Way North), junior first baseman Neal Tyrell (Minooka, Ill./Minooka) and sophomore second baseman Alex Kiszkowski (Schaumburg, Ill./Schaumburg) each had two hits for the Flyers. Collins and Kiszkowski both scored a run, while Tyrell had a RBI single.

The Flyers also received a two-run single from junior catcher Trevor Tunison (Rockford, Ill./Rockford Lutheran).

With the win, Northwood improves to 9-4 on the campaign, while the Flyers fall to 0-8 overall.

Lewis starting pitcher Robert Talarico (Joliet, Ill./Joliet West) took the loss for the Flyers. Talarico (0-2) surrendered five runs - three earned - and four hits in 2.1 innings of work, while fanning two batters.

Lewis returns to action on Thursday (March 9) with a 1 PM doubleheader against Findlay.
