Lakeland, Fla. - The University of Findlay picked up the 10-3, 6-2 regional doubleheader sweep over the Lewis University baseball team at Henley Field on Thursday (March 9).
Lewis senior
Brandon Collins (Tinley Park, Ill./Lincoln Way North) and junior
Neal Tyrell (Minooka, Ill./Minooka) combined for seven of the Flyers' 14 hits on the afternoon. Collins was 4-for-6 with two runs, two extra base hits and two RBI, while Tyrell was 3-for-6 against the Oilers.
With the sweep, Findlay improves to 9-0, while the Flyers fall to 0-10 on the campaign.
Lewis returns to action on Friday (March 10) with a 3:30 PM ET first pitch against Grand Valley State.

Brandon Post (Elk Grove Village, Ill./Elk Grove) picked up a pair of hits and scored a run in the loss.
Lewis sophomore hurler
Pete Hamot (Downers Grove, Ill./Downers Grove South) took the loss for the Flyers. Hamot (0-2) allowed eight runs - six earned - and 11 hits in five innings of work, while fanning one.

The Oilers took advantage of two Flyer errors in the second inning that led to four runs - three unearned - and never looked back.
Collins went 2-for-3 and scored twice to pace the Flyer offense, while Tyrell was 2-for-4 at the dish.

Jay Militello (Elmwood Park, Ill. /Fenwick) was tagged with the loss for the Flyers. Militello (0-1) surrendered five runs (2 earned), three walks and two hits in three innings of action.
