Clermont, Fla. - St. Cloud State University broke a 1-all tie with two runs in the top of the sixth inning to earn the 3-2 victory over the Lewis University softball team on Tuesday (March 7) evening.
Lewis sophomore first baseman
Carley Maupin (Peotone, Ill./Peotone) went 2-for-2 with a double and scored both of the Flyer runs in the loss.
With the win, St. Cloud State improves to 9-2 overall, while the Flyers drop to 7-4 on the campaign.
Lewis starting pitcher
Paige Fossey (Chesterton, Ind./Chesterton) took the loss in the circle for the Flyers. Fossey (1-3) allowed three earned runs and six hits in 5.1 innings of work, while striking out two batters.
Lewis is back in action on Thursday (March 9) as the Flyers take on both Felician (10:30 AM ET) and Saint Anselm (1 PM ET).
