Louisville, Ky. - The Bellarmine University pitching staff kept the Lewis University softball team at bay, as the Knights collected the 5-0, 10-2 (6 inn.) Great Lakes Valley Conference doubleheader sweep over the Flyers at Knights Field on Friday (Apr. 14).
With the sweep, Bellarmine improves to 20-24 overall and 8-12 in GLVC action, while the Flyers fall to 22-19 on the campaign and 10-10 in conference play.
Lewis returns to action on Saturday (Apr. 15), as the Flyers head to Evansville, Ind., for a 12 PM twinbill against No. 8 Southern Indiana.

Despite outhitting Bellarmine, 10-9, Lewis found itself on the short end of the six inning affair, as the Knights earned the 10-2 win over the Flyers.

Carly Jaworski (Lemont, Ill./Lemont) was 3-for-3 with a double and a RBI, while DeMasi and Prieto (solo homer) each had two hits and drove in a run.
Flyer pitcher
Paige Fossey (Chesterton, Ind./Chesterton) took the loss, allowing four runs - three earned - and one hit in two innings of work.
