Kenosha, Wis. - Lewis University women's tennis defeated Carthage College on Sunday (April 9) 9-0.
Lewis' No. 10 ranked pair of
Dora Andrejszki (Budapest, Hungary/Dozsa Gyorgy) and
Nora Mindiyarova (Moscow, Russia/Gimnasium 1577) defeated Max Mella and Angelica Emmanouil 8-0 at No. 1. Andrejszki won at No. 1 singles against Casey Frommer 6-1, 6-1. Mindiyarova won at No. 2 singles against Mella 6-0, 6-0.
At No. 2 doubles Oana Trus and
Sara Grozdanovic (Berlin, Germany/Paul-Natorp Gymnasium) defeated Frommer and Kristen Kalinka 8-4. Trus beat Emmanouil at No. 3 singles 6-1, 6-2. Grozdanovic beat Kalinka 6-2, 6-1 at No. 4 singles.
Megan Conlin (Aurora, Ill./Rosary) and
Hailey Bruining (Lockport, Ill./Lockport Township) won at No. 3 doubles 8-2 against Eliza Barter and Natalie Favia. Conlin won in her singles match at No. 5 against Paige Moritz 6-1, 4-6, 1-0 (6). At singles No. 6 Bruining beat Barter 6-4, 7-5.
The Flyers will take on the Screaming Eagles of Southern Indiana April 15, wrapping up the regular season. Match start time is set for 11:00 AM.
