Romeoville, Ill. - The Lewis University women's soccer team converted four of its seven shots on goal against Maryville, as the host Flyers claimed the 4-1 Great Lakes Valley Conference win over the Saints at Lewis Stadium on Sunday (Sept. 17).
Lewis senior forward
Angela Toritto (Wood Dale, Ill./Immaculate Conception) led the charge for the Flyers, scoring two goals and assist.
The Flyers also received a goal and an assist by senior midfielder
Mackenzie Fuller (Aurora, Ill./Waubonsie Valley) and freshman forward
Courtney Sengstock (Crystal Lake, Ill./Crystal Lake South).

Cali Havelka-Vanderplow (Hinsdale, Ill./Hinsdale South) contributed two assists, while sophomore midfielder
Mallory Richardson (Bartlett, Ill./Westminister Christian) assisted on Toritto's first score.
With the win, Lewis improves to 3-3 on the campaign and 2-2 in GLVC action, while the Saints fall to 3-2-1 overall and 2-1-1 in conference play.
Maryville outshot Lewis, 19-12, including an 11-7 advantage in shots on goal.
Lewis redshirt senior goalkeeper
Jennifer Meyer (Homer Glen, Ill./Lockport) made 10 saves to earn the victory.
Lewis returns to action on Friday (Sept. 22), as they head to St. Louis for a 5 PM showdown with Missouri-St. Louis.
