Honolulu, Hawai'i - The No. 8 Lewis University women's volleyball team hit a blazing .420 (53 kills, 11 errors, 100 attacks) as the Flyers cruised to the 25-16, 25-20, 25-17 non-conference sweep over Colorado Springs in the opening match of the Hawai'i Challenge, hosted by Chaminade, at McCabe Gym on Saturday (Sept. 2) afternoon.
With the win, Lewis improves to 1-0 on the campaign, while Colorado Springs falls to 0-1.

Elizabeth Hyland (Plainfield, Ill./Plainfield Central), senior middle hitter
Aly Schneider (Granger, Ind./Penn) and redshirt senior right side
Maddie Seliga (St. Louis, Mo./Nerinx Hall) combined for 39 kills in the sweep, which is 15 more than Colorado Springs had as an entire team.
Hyland had a match-high 16 kills and hit .609 (16-2-23), while Schneider had 12 kills and connected for a .476 (12-2-21) hitting percentage. Seliga posted 11 kills and eight digs.

Abby Becker (Menomonee Falls, Wis./Menomonee Falls) hit .714 (5-0-7), while adding a match-high 36 kills along with seven digs. Flyer freshman libero
Jamie Poppen (Ballwin, Mo./Parkway West) had a match-high 11 digs.
Colorado Springs hit .188 (24-9-80) as a team.
Lewis returns to action at 7 PM (HT) on Saturday against host Chaminade.
