Elizabeth Hyland (Plainfield, Ill./Plainfield Central) registered a match-high 14 kills and hit .464 (14 kills, 1 error, 28 attacks) to propel the No. 8 women's volleyball team to the 25-22, 25-19, 25-21 non-conference victory over host Chaminade in the Hawai'i Challenge at McCabe Gym on Saturday (Sept. 2) night.
With the win, Lewis improves to 2-0 on the season, while the Silverswords fall to 1-2.

Maddie Seliga (St. Louis, Mo./Nerinx Hall) collected 10 kills and eight digs, while liberos
Jamie Poppen (Ballwin, Mo./Parkway West) and
Ronni Katarzynski (Winfield, Ill./West Chicago) combined for 21 digs. Poppen had 11 digs, while Katarzynski garnered 10.
Flyer redshirt junior setter
Abby Becker (Menomonee Falls, Wis./Menomonee Falls) dished out a match-high 32 assists.
As a team, Lewis registered a hitting percentage of .305 (41-9-105). Chaminade had more kills than Lewis, but was done in by a combined 27 errors. The Flyers were solid at the net, as they outblocked Chaminade, 11-1.
Lewis returns to action on Sunday (Sept. 3) at 12 PM (HT) against No. 3 Nebraska Kearney.
