Devon Amoo-Mensah (Naperville, Ill./Naperville Central) broke a 1-all tie in the 54th minute as the Flyer men's soccer team picked up the 2-1 Great Lakes Valley Conference victory over Missouri-St. Louis at the Don Dallas Soccer Field on Friday (Sept. 22).
Amoo-Mensah was on the receiving end of a free kick from sophomore
John Horstman (Godfrey, Ill./Marquette Catholic) and beat UMSL goalkeeper Jake Schmidt (3 saves) for the game-winner at the 53:02 mark.
Lewis senior forward
Nico Mueller (Braunschweig, Germany/Raabeschule Braunschweig) scored his team-best fourth goal of the season at the 30:12 mark to even the score up at 1-apiece. Flyer sophomore defender
Claude Kameni (Berlin, Germany/OSZ Gesundheit) sent a pass across the box and Mueller converted from the right side for the score.
With the win, Lewis improves to 4-3 overall and 3-2 in GLVC action, while the host Tritons fall to 3-3-1 on the campaign and 3-2 in conference play.

Philip Huang (Flossmoor, Ill./Homewood-Flossmoor) stopped three UMSL shots to earn the victory for the Flyers. He did not see any shots on goal in the second half.
Lewis outshot UMSL, 15-8, including a 5-4 advantage in shots on goal.
Lewis returns to action on Sunday (Sept. 24), as the Flyers head to Lebanon, Ill., for a 2:30 PM showdown with McKendree.
