Day One Doubles Results
Evanston, Ill. - Lewis University women's tennis participated in the Wildcat Invitational hosted by Northwestern University, finishing day one on Friday (Sept. 29).
In the singles draw,
Dora Andrejszki (Budapest, Hungary/Dozsa Gyorgy) defeated Claudia Bartolome (Pittsburgh) 6-3, 6-2.
Nora Mindiyarova (Moscow, Russia/Gimnasium 1577) won her match against Lorea Gamboa (Chicago State) 6-3, 6-0 in the yellow flight.
Oana Trus (Sighetu Marmatiei, Romania/Regele Ferdinand) lost her singles match against Amelia Guevremont (UIC) 6-2, 6-2 in the green flight.
In the round robin flight
Simone Parn (Parnu, Estonia) beat Andjela Dejanovic (Chicago State) 6-3, 6-2 in round one.
For the doubles draw in the garnet doubles, Andrejszki and Mindiyarova defeated Evie Shannon and Hayden Siegfried (Notre Dame) 6-1. The pair then beat Seifert and Vasic (UIC) 6-3.
Trus and Parn lost to Gamboa and Alana Andrews (Chicago State) 6-4 in the first round of the doubles round robin. They then lost to Caroline Szabo and Julia Fenn (Michigan State) 7-6.
The Wildcat Invite continues Saturday (Sept. 30).
