Cali Havelka-Vanderplow (Hinsdale, Ill./Hinsdale South) scored her first collegiate goal and added another tally for good measure to lead the Flyers to the 2-1 regional road victory over Tiffin at Paradiso Fields on Monday (Sept. 4).
Havelka-Vanderplow broke a scoreless tie at the 32:19 mark, as she lobbed a shot over the head of Tiffin goalkeeper Samantha Ortenzi (6 saves). She added her second goal in the opening minutes of the second half, converting a cross from
Hannah Weber (Cary, Ill./Cary-Grove) in the 48th minute.
With the win, Lewis improves to 1-1, while the host Dragons drop to 0-2-1 on the campaign.

Jennifer Meyer (Homer Glen, Ill./Lockport) made five saves to earn the victory for the Flyers.
The Flyers outshot the Dragons, 18-15, and held an 8-6 in advantage in shots on goal.
Lewis returns to action on Friday (Sept. 8), as the Flyers open Great Lakes Valley Conference action against Rockhurst in Kansas City. Kickoff is set for 5 PM.
