Kansas City, Mo. - Rockhurst University freshman forward Cate Sommerhoff broke a scoreless tie with the golden goal in the 95th minute to push the host Hawks to the 1-0 (OT) win over the Lewis University women's soccer team in the Great Lakes Valley Conference opener at Bourke Field on Friday (Sept. 8).
With the win, Rockhurst improves to 3-0 overall and 1-0 in GLVC action, while the Flyers fall to 1-2 on the campaign and 0-1 in conference play.
Rockhurst outshot the Flyers, 21-6, including a 10-3 advantage in shots on frame.
