Philip Huang (Flossmoor, Ill./Homewood-Flossmoor), as the No. 14 Hawks rallied for the 2-1 overtime win over the visiting Flyers in the Great Lakes Valley Conference opener at Bourke Field on Friday (Sept. 8).
Rockhurst junior forward Umoh Ufot scored the game-tying goal in the 51st minute with an assist from sophomore defender Luca Mastrantonio.
With the win, Rockhurst improves to 2-0-1 overall and 1-0 in GLVC action, while the Flyers fall to 1-2 on the campaign and 0-1 in conference play.
Lewis sophomore midfielder
Timm Adler (Frankenthal Rheinland-Pfalz Germany/Karolinen-Gymnasium Frankenthal) scored the opening goal of the game, converting a free kick from 25 yards out at the 30:24 mark. Huang finished with two saves.
Rockhurst outshot the Flyers, 16-4, including a 4-2 advantage in shots on goal.
Lewis returns to action on Sunday (Sept. 10), as the Flyers head to Liberty, Mo., for a 2:30 kickoff against William Jewell.
