No. 14 Rockhurst Rallies For 2-1 Overtime Win Over Lewis Men's Soccer

Jackson scores golden goal for Hawks in 91st minute; Adler scores lone tally for Flyers.

Kansas City, Mo. - Rockhurst University senior forward Kaleb Jackson broke a 1-all tie in the 91st minute, as he uncorked a rocket past the outstretched arms of Lewis University goalkeeper Philip Huang (Flossmoor, Ill./Homewood-Flossmoor), as the No. 14 Hawks rallied for the 2-1 overtime win over the visiting Flyers in the Great Lakes Valley Conference opener at Bourke Field on Friday (Sept. 8).

Rockhurst junior forward Umoh Ufot scored the game-tying goal in the 51st minute with an assist from sophomore defender Luca Mastrantonio.

With the win, Rockhurst improves to 2-0-1 overall and 1-0 in GLVC action, while the Flyers fall to 1-2 on the campaign and 0-1 in conference play.

Lewis sophomore midfielder Timm Adler (Frankenthal Rheinland-Pfalz Germany/Karolinen-Gymnasium Frankenthal) scored the opening goal of the game, converting a free kick from 25 yards out at the 30:24 mark. Huang finished with two saves.

Rockhurst outshot the Flyers, 16-4, including a 4-2 advantage in shots on goal.

Lewis returns to action on Sunday (Sept. 10), as the Flyers head to Liberty, Mo., for a 2:30 kickoff against William Jewell.
