Chicago, Ill. - A pair of wins from
Alan Braschinsky (Tallinn, Estonia/Milna Harma) wasn't enough for the Lewis University men's tennis team in a 7-2 loss to No. 9 University of Chicago Saturday (Jan. 27) in a nonconference match.
Braschinsky beat Nicolas Chua 7-6 (7-5), 6-3) at No. 1 singles and teamed with
Oskar Lusti (Tallinn, Estonia) to beat Tyler Raclin and Jeremy Yuan 8-5 at No. 1 doubles.
In singles, Lusti fell 6-3, 6-2 to Luke Tsai at No. 2,
Andre Norasith (Elgin, Ill./South Elgin) fell to Yuan at No. 3 singles 6-3, 6-4,
Chandler Stimpert (Graceland, Ill./Morton) dropped a 6-2, 6-1 decision at No. 4 singles to Alejandro Rodriguez,
Anton Levitin (Buffalo Grove, Ill./Buffalo Grove) lost 6-1, 6-1 to Ninan Kumar at No. 5 and
Brendan Peterson (Elmhurst, Ill./York) lost 6-1, 6-1 to Justin Lee at No. 6.
The No. 2 doubles team of Norasith and Levitin fell to Kumar and Chua 8-4 and Stimpert and Peterson fell to Lee and Abhin Sharma 8-5.
Chicago moves to 1-0 on the year, while Lewis opens 0-1.
The Flyers are back in action Saturday (Feb. 3) when it hosts Cardinal Stritch at 5:15 PM at Five Star Tennis Center in Plainfield.
