Final Results
Plainfield, Ill. - The Lewis University women's tennis team picked up their first win of 2018, topping Cardinal Stritch 6-3 Saturday (Feb. 3) in a nonconference match at Five Star Tennis Center.
Dora Andrejszki (Budapest, Hungary/Dozsa Gyorgy),
Nora Mindiyarova (Moscow, Russia/Gimnasium 1577), Oana Carmen Trus and
Simone Parn (Parnu, Estonia) all went 2-0 on the day for the Flyers.
In singles, Andrejeszki defeated Antonia Elze 6-1, 6-4 at No. 1 singles, Mindiyarova won 6-4, 6-3 at No. 2 over Lisa Keller, Trus won via withdraw in the third set tiebreak over Luise Gruber and Parn won 5-7, 6-3, 6-4 at No. 4 singles over Livia Hollosey.
Andrejszki and Trus teamed up at No. 1 doubles to defeat Keller and Hollosey 8-4, while Mindiyarova and Parn beat Chelsea Kelly and Kimberly Tait 8-3 at No. 2 doubles.
The win evens the Flyers' record at 1-1, while Cardinal Stritch falls to 1-1.
Lewis returns to Five Star Tennis Center Feb. 17 when it plays host to Walsh at 5:15 PM.
