Plainfield, Ill. - The Lewis University men's tennis team fell to Cardinal Stritch 6-3 Saturday (Feb. 3) in a nonconference match at Five Star Tennis Center.
Alan Braschinsky (Tallinn, Estonia/Milna Harma)Â moved to 4-0 overall in 2018 as he won both his singles and doubles matches for a second straight match.
At No. 1 singles Braschinsky defeated Agustin Gascia 6-4, 6-7 (7-4), 6-2. In doubles he teamed with
Oskar Lusti (Tallinn, Estonia) to take down the duo of Nicolas Palacio and Fabio Perasso 8-4 at No. 1 doubles.
Also winning on the evening was the No. 2 doubles team of
Andre Norasith (Elgin, Ill./South Elgin) and
Anton Levitin (Buffalo Grove, Ill./Buffalo Grove), who defeated Gascia and Niccolo Rossi 8-2.
The No. 3 doubles match went to the Cardinal Stritch doubles team of Danilo Pejovic and Nicola Wherle, who beat
Chandler Stimpert (Graceland, Ill./Morton) and
Brendan Peterson (Elmhurst, Ill./York), 8-6.
In singles Cardinal Stritch won the final five matches in straight sets.
The loss drops the Flyers to 0-2 on the year, while Cardinal Stritch moves to 3-1.
Up next for the Flyers is a match against Walsh at Five Star Tennis Center at 5:15 PM Feb. 17.
