Final Results

HOMEWOOD, Ill. - The Lewis University women's tennis team fell to Division-I Oakland University 7-0 Saturday (March 10) in a nonconference match at Homewood-Flossmoor.

With the loss the Flyers fall to 4-4 on the year, while the Golden Grizzlies move to 5-6.

The lone win on the afternoon for Lewis came from the No. 1 doubles team of Dora Andrejeszki and Oana Carmen Trus (Sighetu Marmatiei, Romania/Regele Ferdinand), who teamed to beat Amanda Nilsson and Sofia Borcuti 7-5. The other doubles team of Simone Parn (Parnu, Estonia) and Nora Mindiyarova (Moscow, Russia/Gimnasium 1577) lost 6-3 to Darya Maltseva and Alexandra Whall.

In singles, Andrejeszki lost 3-6, 6-3, 11-9 to Dasha Artamonova at No. 1, Mindiyarova fell 7-5, 6-4 to Maltseva at No. 2, Trus lost 4-6, 6-2, 10-7 to Allison Motea at No. 3 and Parn lost 6-1, 6-2 to Whall at No. 4.

The Flyers are back in action Sunday (March 11) in Homewood as they face off with Chicago State at 5 p.m.
