HOMEWOOD, Ill. - The Lewis University men's tennis team lost to Division-I Wright State 6-1 Saturday (March 10) in a match at Homewood-Flossmoor.
Lewis now stands at 3-5 on the year, while Wright State moves to 7-6.
Picking up a win for the Flyers was
Brendan Peterson (Elmhurst, Ill./York) at No. 6 singles, who beat Carlos Sanchez 6-4, 6-1. Also competing in singles for the Flyers, in order of position was
Alan Braschinsky (Tallinn, Estonia/Milna Harma), who fell 6-3, 6-1 to Michal Kianicka,
Oskar Lusti (Tallinn, Estonia) lost 6-4, 6-7 (5-7), 14-12,
Andre Norasith (Elgin, Ill./South Elgin) lost to Param Pun 6-3, 7-6 (7-5),
Anton Levitin (Buffalo Grove, Ill./Buffalo Grove) lost to Marcl Ueltzhoeffer 6-2, 6-0 and
Chandler Stimpert (Graceland, Ill./Morton) lost to Donovan Cellupica 6-3, 6-2.
In doubles, Braschinsky and Lusti fell to Kianicka and Nardelli 7-5 and Peterson and Stimpert lost to Cellupica and Sanchez 6-3.
The Flyers will face another Division-I school Sunday (March 11) when they face Chicago State in Homewood at 5 p.m.
