INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - The Lewis University men's tennis team fell to No. 13 Southwest Baptist 5-4 Tuesday (March 20) in a nonconference match. The loss evens the Flyers' record at 6-6 on the season, while Southwest Baptist moves to 11-1.
The top of the order shone brightly for the Flyers, as the top three singles players and top doubles team earned points in the match.
In doubles, the No. 1 team of
Alan Braschinsky (Tallinn, Estonia/Milna Harma) and
Oskar Lusti (Tallinn, Estonia) defeated Raul Caballero and Torben Semrau 8-5. The No. 2 doubles team of
Andre Norasith (Elgin, Ill./South Elgin) and
Anton Levitin (Buffalo Grove, Ill./Buffalo Grove) fell 8-4 to Ferenc and Gyorgy Agoston and the No. 3 team of
Brendan Peterson (Elmhurst, Ill./York) and
Chandler Stimpert (Graceland, Ill./Morton)Â lost 8-5 to Carols Corser and Max Sanoja.
For singles, Braschinsky defeated Caballero 7-5, 6-4 at No. 1 singles, Lusti took down Ferenc Agoston 3-6, 6-3, 6-3 at No. 2 and Norasith won 5-7, 6-4, 7-6 over Torben Semrau at No. 3. Levitin fell 6-4, 6-3 to David Szeri at No. 4, Peterson lost 7-6, 6-3 to Gyorgy Agoston at No. 5 and Stimpert lost 6-1, 6-7, 6-4 to Corser at No. 6.
The Flyers return to the courts Friday (March 23) when they go to Michigan to take on Ferris State at 10 a.m.
