MIDLAND, Mich. - The Lewis University women's tennis team fell to Northwood 5-0 Saturday (March 24) in a regional match at Greater Midland Tennis Center.

The Flyers moved to 7-6 on the year, while Northwood went to 15-3.

The only matches the went final were a pair of doubles matches as the singles matches went unfinished with the match outcome already decided.

At No. 1 doubles, Dora Andrejszki (Budapest, Hungary/Dozsa Gyorgy) and Oana Carmen Trus (Sighetu Marmatiei, Romania/Regele Ferdinand) fell to Tetyana Pavych and Carol Arnez-Mercado 9-8. At No. 2 doubles, Simone Parn (Parnu, Estonia) and Nora Mindiyarova (Moscow, Russia/Gimnasium 1577) lost to Olesia Riabchuk and Kate Berestovenko 8-6.

Lewis will open Great Lakes Valley Conference play Friday (March 30) when it travels to take on Illinois Springfield at 2 p.m.
