DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - The Lewis University men's tennis team fell to No. 10 Embry-Riddle 8-1 Tuesday (March 6) in a nonconference meet in Florida.
Lewis falls to 3-4 on the season, while Embry-Riddle moves to 5-2.
The lone winner of the day went to
Alan Braschinsky (Tallinn, Estonia/Milna Harma) at No. 1 singles. Braschinsky won a thrilling match over Juan Ortiz Couder 6-4, 6-7, 10-8, to move to 7-0 in singles in dual matches.
Oskar Lusti (Tallinn, Estonia)n fell at No. 2 singles 6-3, 3-6, 6-1 to Andres Donayre,
Andre Norasith (Elgin, Ill./South Elgin) lost to Deepak Vishavkarma 6-4, 6-7 (3-7) at No. 3, 10-8,
Anton Levitin (Buffalo Grove, Ill./Buffalo Grove)Â lost 6-1, 6-2 to Lucas Bos at No. 4,
Chandler Stimpert (Graceland, Ill./Morton) fell to Rodolfo Arreygue 6-3, 6-4 at No. 5 and
Brendan Peterson (Elmhurst, Ill./York) was defeated by Mickael Faucher 3-6, 6-1, 6-1 at No. 6.
In doubles, the top team of Braschinsky and Lusti fell for the first time in 2018, 8-6 to No. 7 ranked Arreygue and Donayre. Norasith and Levitin lost to Ortiz Couder and Bos 9-7 and Peterson and Ben Kasbeer lost at No. 3 doubles 8-2 to Vishavkarma and Faucher.
Next up for the Flyers is a trip to Dayton, Ohio, to take on Wright State Saturday (March 10) at 2 p.m.
