O'FALLON, Ill. – The No. 40 Lewis women's tennis team defeated McKendree 5-3 Friday (April 13) in a Great Lakes Valley Conference match at St. Clair Tennis Club.

The Flyers picked up wins at the top three singles positions as No. 48
Dora Andrejszki (Budapest, Hungary/Dozsa Gyorgy) defeated Vivian Amaro 6-0, 6-0 at No. 1,
Nora Mindiyarova (Moscow, Russia/Gimnasium 1577) beat Tori Lindsay 6-1, 6-0 at No. 2 and
Oana Carmen Trus (Sighetu Marmatiei, Romania/Regele Ferdinand) beat Jessica Molinari 6-1, 6-1 at No. 3.

In doubles the No. 1 team of Andrejeszki and Mindiyarova, who are ranked No. 14 in the country, beat Amaro and Sahar Guermah 8-0, while
Simone Parn (Parnu, Estonia) and Trus took down Lindsay and Molinari 8-2 at the No. 2 doubles spot.

The win moves the Flyers, the No. 9 ranked team in the Midwest Region, to 9-8, while McKendree falls to 2-11.

Lewis returns home to take on Southern Indiana at 7:30 a.m. at Five Star Tennis Center in Plainfield.
