PLAINFIELD, Ill. – The No. 40 Lewis women's tennis team cruised to a 6-3 win over Southern Indiana Saturday (April 14) in a Great Lakes Valley Conference match at Five Star Tennis Center.

The win moves the Flyers, the No. 9 ranked team in the Midwest Region, to 10-8 overall, 3-2 in the GLVC, while USI falls to 9-13, 1-4.

Lewis won all six matches it competed in comfortably. In singles, No. 48
Dora Andrejszki (Budapest, Hungary/Dozsa Gyorgy) bested Lauren Hambrock 6-0, 6-0 at No. 1,
Nora Mindiyarova (Moscow, Russia/Gimnasium 1577) beat Kelsey Shipman 6-0, 6-0 at No. 2,
Oana Carmen Trus (Sighetu Marmatiei, Romania/Regele Ferdinand) took down Anna McDonald 6-0, 6-1 at No. 3 and
Simone Parn (Parnu, Estonia) beat Alex Jamison 6-2, 6-0 at No. 4.

In doubles it was the No. 14 team of Andrejszki and Mindiyarova beating Hambrock and Shipman 8-1 at No. 1, while Parn and Trus shut out Jennifer Mizikar and Lauryn Thompson 8-0 at No. 2.

The Flyers face St. Francis at 3 p.m. Tuesday (April 17) in their final tune-up before the GLVC meet.
