O'FALLON, Ill. – The No. 45 Lewis men's tennis team beat McKendree 5-4 Friday (April 13) in a Great Lakes Valley Conference match at St. Clair Tennis Club.

The win evens the Flyers' record at 9-9 on the year, while McKendree falls to 4-10.

In doubles, the No. 1 team of
Alan Braschinsky (Tallinn, Estonia/Milna Harma) and
Oskar Lusti (Tallinn, Estonia), who are ranked No. 4 in the nation, defeated Macio Egbers and Ben Muller 8-0, while the No. 3 team of
Brendan Peterson (Elmhurst, Ill./York) and
Chandler Stimpert (Graceland, Ill./Morton) beat Johnny Hu and Nicholas De Guzman 8-3. The No. 2 doubles team of
Anton Levitin (Buffalo Grove, Ill./Buffalo Grove) and
Andre Norasith (Elgin, Ill./South Elgin) fell to Jevtic Ognjen and Kayser Khan 9-7.

On the singles side, No. 48 Braschinsky beat Egbers 6-4, 6-3 at No. 1, Peterson topped Khan 6-2, 6-1 at No. 5 and Stimpert took down Ratik Khanna 6-3, 6-0 at No. 6. Lusti fell to Muller 6-4, 6-2 at No. 2, Norasith lost 6-4, 6-4 to De Guzman at No. 3 and Levitin lost 6-3, 6-2 to Ognjen at No. 4.

Lewis will face Southern Indiana Saturday (April 14) at 1:15 p.m. in Lockport.
