INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The No. 42 Lewis University men's tennis team fell to No. 10 Indianapolis 8-1 Friday (April 6) in a Great Lakes Valley Conference match at the UIndy Tennis Center. The Greyhounds are the top ranked team in the Midwest Region, while Lewis is the No. 5 ranked team in the region.
The win on the day for the Flyers went to the No. 20 doubles team of
Alan Braschinsky (Tallinn, Estonia/Milna Harma) and
Oskar Lusti (Tallinn, Estonia), who beat the No. 32 team of Lima Renato and Andrea Morlet 8-5 at No. 1 doubles. In other doubles matches
Andre Norasith (Elgin, Ill./South Elgin) and
Anton Levitin (Buffalo Grove, Ill./Buffalo Grove) fell to Magnus Mueller and Christoph Dreschler 8-3 at No. 2 and
Brendan Peterson (Elmhurst, Ill./York) and
Chandler Stimpert (Graceland, Ill./Morton) lost to Nils Hoffacker and Dario Huber 8-2 at No. 3.
In singles it was No. 61 Hoffacker over No. 41 Braschinsky 6-1, 3-6, 6-2, Lusti fell to Renato 6-3, 6-2, Norasith lost to Mueller 6-0, 6-1, Levitin lost to Huber 6-0, 6-1, Stimpert fell to Matej Kostadinov 6-2, 6-0 and Peterson fell to Matteo Videwau 6-0, 6-2.
The Flyers fall to 7-9 on the year, while the Greyhounds move to 17-2. Next up for the Flyers is a trip to Louisville, Kentucky to take on Bellarmine at 12 p.m. Saturday.
