LOUISVILLE, Ky. – It was a strong showing on the road for the No. 48 Lewis women's tennis team as it defeated No. 25 Bellarmine 5-4 Saturday (April 7) in a Great Lakes Valley Conference match at Advantage Tennis and Fitness.

The Knights, the No. 1 ranked team in the Midwest Region, falls to 17-2 on the year, 2-1 in the GLVC, while the Flyers advance to 8-8, 1-2 in GLVC.

In doubles, the No. 1 team of
Dora Andrejszki (Budapest, Hungary/Dozsa Gyorgy) and
Nora Mindiyarova (Moscow, Russia/Gimnasium 1577) defeated Maggie Walroth and Ashley Jonathan 8-6, while
Oana Carmen Trus (Sighetu Marmatiei, Romania/Regele Ferdinand) and
Simone Parn (Parnu, Estonia) defeated Jennifer Skonieczny and Marissa Kovach 8-2.

For singles, Andrejszki beat Skonieczny 6-0, 6-3 at No. 1, Mindiyarova took down Walroth 6-1, 6-0 at No. 2 and Trus beat Jonathan 6-0, 6-1 at No. 3.

The Flyers will play their seventh straight match away from home Friday (April 13) when the travel to face McKendree at 12 p.m.
