ROMEOVILLE, Ill. – The fifth ranked Lewis women's basketball team used a dominant second half to defeat Truman State 86-56 on Thursday night at Neil Carey Arena. The win was the 10th straight for the Flyers (10-1, 2-0 GLVC) and snapped the Bulldogs five game winning streak.

Truman scored the first five points of the contest and led by as many as six in the opening 10 minutes. Lewis responded with a 13-4 run over a four minute span to take a three-point lead on a layup from Jessica Kelliher (Waukesha, Wis./Waukesha North) with less than two minutes to play in the quarter.

Brooke Bailey kept the Bulldogs in the contest scoring 12 of the team's 17 points and hit a three to tie the game but Tierney Lockett (Richton Park, Ill./Rich South) gave the Flyers the lead at the quarter break with a layup.

Rachel Edmundson hit a three less than a minute into the second quarter to give the Bulldogs their final lead of the game. Lewis answered with a 7-2 run over the next 2:20 to retake the lead. Morgan Glatczak (Mukwonago, Wis./Mukwonago) scored five straight points at one point hitting a layup and a three.

The Flyers extended their lead to six with 1:05 remaining in the half and had a chance at a bigger lead but turned the ball over twice in the final minute. Bailey made them pay hitting a three-pointer right before the buzzer to cut the lead to 35-32 at the break.
